RMS Bike Route Buddies
As the snowflakes begin to fall, this group of Richfield Middle School students are saying goodbye (for now) to their daily bike route. Since the beginning of the year, these students have biked together to and from school, creating a fun routine that has become a central part of their mornings and afternoons.
“We have a group chat that we use if one of us isn’t going to be there,” explained sixth grader Isabel, one of the students who regularly join the route.
The group, which consists of students from both sixth and eighth grades, meets at a designated spot and travels together, weaving through the streets as they make their way to and from school.
“Our route probably wouldn’t make any sense,” said Olivia, “but we pick each other up and get to school around 8:10 a.m., which is when the doors open.”
While the group says goodbye to their bikes for now, they look forward to beginning their fun tradition again in the spring.
