Upward Bound is an incredible opportunity for rising 8th-grade students attending Richfield High School in the Fall of 2021.
Why?
- Get a head start on high school with English, Math, Science and Spanish classes
- Virtual field trips, discussions and fun clubs on Fridays
- Students earn high school credit for RHS
- Students are paid a stipend to participate
- Meet other program participants including current RHS students
- Tutoring during the school year
- Help navigating high school
- College and career advising
- In-state and out-of-state trips (once we can safely resume)
- Some past trips include: Chicago, Madison, Mankato State, Winona State, Bell Museum, Milwaukee, snow tubing
- This is a federally-funded program, so it is free to qualifying participants
When & Where?
- Monday, June 14, through Friday, July 23
- Most days are from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Online through Zoom (in-person meetings resume in the fall)
Requirements to Join
- Be a rising 8th-grade student attending Richfield High School in the fall
- A laptop and reliable internet connection. We are able to loan a limited amount of laptops to participants.
- Complete an online application
- The application deadline for the summer program is Friday, May 28!
