Upward Bound

Upward Bound

Upward Bound is an incredible opportunity for rising 8th-grade students attending Richfield High School in the Fall of 2021.

Why?

  • Get a head start on high school with English, Math, Science and Spanish classes
  • Virtual field trips, discussions and fun clubs on Fridays
  • Students earn high school credit for RHS
  • Students are paid a stipend to participate
  • Meet other program participants including current RHS students
  • Tutoring during the school year
  • Help navigating high school
  • College and career advising
  • In-state and out-of-state trips (once we can safely resume)
  • Some past trips include: Chicago, Madison, Mankato State, Winona State, Bell Museum, Milwaukee, snow tubing
  • This is a federally-funded program, so it is free to qualifying participants

When & Where?

  • Monday, June 14, through Friday, July 23
  • Most days are from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Online through Zoom (in-person meetings resume in the fall)

Requirements to Join

  • Be a rising 8th-grade student attending Richfield High School in the fall
  • A laptop and reliable internet connection. We are able to loan a limited amount of laptops to participants.
  • Complete an online application
  • The application deadline for the summer program is Friday, May 28!
